Workers now need 35 years of NI contributions to qualify for the full state pension [prev. 30]

Under proposals in a Government White Paper, from 2017 tax payers will need to contribute NIC’s for a full 35 years. From this date, there will eventually be just one state pension of £144 a week (in today’s money terms).
