Seminar: Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way

Asset Preservation are co-hosting a presentation on Wills & Probate on Thursday 19th of January at 7.30am for which you are welcome to attend.

Our speaker this month is Mark Hudson, Professional Will Writer and Probate specialist. 70% of  the UK adult population still have not made a Will and a significant number of those who have, have not updated it in recent years for legislation and changes in their circumstances.
Why make a Will?

  • If you haven’t, the government will make one for you [laws of Intestacy]
  • To provide for your family and next of kin
  • To nominate guardians for your children or the state might look after them for you
  • To save IHT. The 9th Duke of Westminster left an estate of £9B and will pay no IHT.
  • To save care home fees
  • To prevent assets being given prematurely to beneficiaries who are maybe being sued or are alcoholics or in in divorce proceedings
  • Protect against 2nd marriage syndrome and more!
  • Case studies (‘How a £90 will by Barclays lost half my house’)

Who is your Executor?

Do you need one?

If it is a solicitor, they can, under Law society rules, charge your estate 6% +++ in fees.

If it is a bank, they might be charging up to 25% for their services!

It doesn’t have to be this way.

For those IIBers who are getting on a bit, which is all of you except me, this is a really important session to explain Everything you need to know and Wills and Probate and what it means to your family.

So come along to our 1st session of the year for what will be an illuminating CPD session, networking and bacon butties down at the Church!

We look forward to seeing you there!  £10 on the door.
